The 988 phone number service for mental health crisis and suicide prevention services being introduced in the USA on 16 July 2022 will not be available in Canada at that time, instead call the toll-free number 1-833-456-4566 for voice calls at any time, or the common short code 45645 for texts from 4 pm to midnight Eastern Time.
