Define internet service provider. An internet service provider can be defined as a company or organization which provides high speed internet access to individuals, businesses, and organizations. This is usually a paid service. The term internet service provider can also be abbreviated to (ISP) or ISP. Broadband internet providers are also included in the definition of internet service providers, as are high speed internet providers, and cable internet service providers. Other types of internet service providers include DSL, fibre, satellite, point to point, and internet over low voltage electrical grid.
